"Summer Girl Skate", digital illustration by Jocelyn Marie Goode, 2021

We are curating roller-skate culture through the lens of the black experience, and embracing it as a solution, a potential cure to some of the social ills we see hurting our communities--

It's Social Justice X Roller-Skating. It’s the “Culture as the Cure” and we are combining roller-skating with fashion, music, art & dance to encourage:

  • Anti-Violence + Gun Violence Prevention

  • Creative Expression + Innovation

  • Inclusion + Representation

  • Emotional + Social Wellness

  • Research, Education, Authorship + Documentation (R.E.A.D.)

The African-American Roller-Skate Museum challenges how a museum can serve in 21st century, digitized & automated society--

The AARSM redefines the role of the museum by:

  • Serving The People In The Present

  • Advancing The Culture Into The Future

  • Archiving The Past With Accuracy And Accessibility
